Just a few things I love. Please check out the list of people participating in Show and Tell Sunday. This cameo was my maternal grandmother's. I love cameos. I envision this one as a choker on a wide black velvet ribbon with a strapless black taffeta dress. Remember that breathtaking black strapless dress Princess Diana wore that time? She stepped out of the limousine and the papparazzi gasped...Now that's an entrance.
Cameo earrings found at an estate sale for $1.50
Faux pearls that were my grandmother's resting on a gorgeous 1950s dress of my mom's that I thought was lost forever. I knew that I would never have thrown it out...Mr. Hollyhocks found it packed away in the basement...along with...
This little silver dog pin. You can see it pinned to my grandma's coat in the photo. I am so glad to have it back. She wore it all winter and I remember admiring it when I was really little.
More grandma sparkle...
...and more...
...and 2 estate sale find pins...I have a few more things which I will save for another time...I really want to show you these...
These are an estate sale find. Aren't they just the best? I've worn them a couple of times. I'll leave you with...
A few things that arrived in the mail this week from Andrea's Shop. Have you ordered from her yet? Everything arrives wrapped like a present and with some yummy pink candy. She is sending a free almond-scented Italian glue stick with every order placed in April.
Thank you for visiting Hollyhocks.

What great treasures! Love that cute doggy pin and it's so nice that you have a photo of your Grandma wearing it. Awesome specs too. Wish I was bold enough to wear something like that!

btw did your succeed in finding dutch ribbon (red/white or blue/white of red/white and blue)?
I could check here for you. Mmm I would love to trade dutch ribbons for those sunglasses...they are the best. You are so right wearing them, (oh no I never said that)
Take care!

What lovely things you have from your grandma! I have nothing then her wedding bouquet as yet.She had not of lot of jewels and what there was has been dispersed to her 7 children. My mom has a few small items.
The pin with the little silver dog is realy darling and the dress of you mom is so beautiful.Don' put it in the basement any more!! My mom still has still her weddingdress. It is 60 years old.She made it herself when she got married just after the war.It has a sculpered neckline and the fabric has the most darling swallows on it.I so love it. I hope to have it some day The faux silk fabric is all split but it will still be a joy to have it.

Beautiful treasures! I've been catching up on your blog. I am amazed at your hanky collection! I have the Tamis Keefe cat's handkerchief to match your dog hanky. My last pregnancy (15 years ago) I spent five weeks in bed in the hospital. I did a lot of cross stitch and reading. My son was 12 weeks early and he is my miracle child. Hang in there.
