Show and Tell Sunday...Vintage Linens
Have I got a husband or what? Since I am unable to go to estate sales, he happened to see a sign and stopped in to see if there was anything I would like...
He got the embroidered runner, pristine A&P needle book and this tablecloth for $2!!!! The tablecloth needs a good soak but the colors are vivid and I just love it. I may have to send him out every week with a fistful of bills and a wish list. This guy is good!
Thanks to Cerri and Analise for sponsoring another show and tell Sunday. Check their blogs out for a complete list of participants. I apologize for the photo quality but my time upright is limited...to about 5 minutes...so there isn't a lot of time to fuss...
You've seen them before, but the tablecloths were the first linens I collected...
Hey, how did that sweet Moda fabric get in there? Just looking at it cheers me up! I debated and debated about ordering it...
This white cabinet is stuffed with Christmas and other linens...I must remember to sort it out once the twins are...in school...
A drawer of doilies... There are a few of these...
A sampler and some chenille...
...and some of the feedsacks...
...and 2 vintage peg bags. There's so much more...you'lljust have to stop in when I am off of bedrest. Speaking of...this is what bedrest looks like with a chocolate lab...he's a little protective...
Ignore the dark circles...I am certainly getting ENOUGH REST!!!! Thanks for visiting with Hollyhocks. Your notes make my day, every day.

Hi again! You look so cheerful on that picture! When reading your post I thought you were talking about a chocolate labaratory in stead of labrador!!! LOL. But of course I do understand why you are so cheerful, who wouldn't be with her closets stuffed with these linens, not to forget having a husband who knows exactly what you want and who is willing to go to sales too.
You lucky girl! Enjoy! Have a nice Sunday and take care!

What fabulous linens - I am yearning to rummage through them all!! Your hubby is a treasure too - mine drives for miles to avoid going past boot sales just in case I make him stop! Glad you have company for your bedrest!

Peg Bags, such memories of getting the old wooden clothes pins out of them and hanging clothes outside in the breeze. So enjoyable sleeping on the sheets that night. Thanks for bring that memory around.
Have a great Sunday!

What a sweet hubby!! I'm so glad you got to participate today. You have a wonderful collection of linens. I'll bet I would have enjoyed my bed rest 16 years ago, if I had been able to do fun stuff like this. Take care of those sweet babies!

My husband once bought a tablecloth at a garage sale he stopped at, I was so freaking excited!
So your husband gets big props from me.
P.S. It was so nice to see 24 weeks at the bottom of this post. I am thinking of you and the babies often.

Thanks for keeping us updated on the babies and yourself. All three of you are in my thoughts. And what gorgeous linen. I can just imagine it all in one big pile with me jumping into the center. Heaven.
Thanks for the link on the liberty fabrics, thats a great shop. I will have to win big on the lottery before I could ever afford them, but they are great to look at, and imagine your twins clothed in them. Take care of yourself and follow the doctors orders! Love Stacy

Gosh, I haven't been to your blog in so long I just read that you were expecting. My best wishes for you & your twins.
What a dear husband, stopping at a sale & finding vintage items for you...I'd fall over if mine did something like that. :)

i LOVE that picture with cadbury... how sweet! i love how animals get so protective when there is a pregnant woman around. not sure if i mentioned this before, but when i was pregnant with carter, we were camping one weekend and every dog that was at our camp (i think 4 or 5 of them) was sitting around me in a protective ring. it was kind of weird, but also quite fascinating!
