Bad paraphrase...but do you get the reference? None of my relatives did. Can you name the book/movie?
It has been so long since I have taken a good book to bed to read for a few minutes. I am usually in a race to get the needed hours of sleep, but I am home on break now so there are a few minutes here and there. Last night the book of choice was Tartine. I paged through the stories and buttery recipes and came to a big decision...
I am going to try to make homemade croissants. Soon. I love to bake, but things like puff pastry and croissants are a bit scary because there is actual technique involved. The book gives so many tips and such clear instructions that I really think I can do it.
Part of the joy of baking now is the chance to pause and remember all of the years when I dreamed of having just one child for whom to bake.
Oh, the pastries I'll bake for these two angels. Life is funny isn't it? You really have to stop and take a mental snapshot. So, last night I dreamed of baking buttery croissants, and they came out perfectly...That book may become required bedtime reading.
